J. Max Bond Street Renaming

J. Max Bond Jr.

J. Max Bond Jr. was a trailblazing architect, educator, activist, and leader who managed to persevere above the stench and turmoil of racism. He is our industry’s Jim Brown. He used his knowledge, experience and a love for his people to change the landscape of architecture. This street renaming was during my presidency with the New York Coalition of Black Architects (nycoba), and I had the honor of offering remarks on this momentous occasion.
