The proprietor and head chef at Arrogant Swine came to BOLT in search of a suitable space and architectural design services for his all-American Beer Hall. Through laborious property searches BOLT assisted Tyson with acquiring a location nestled in the artistic village of Bushwick, Brooklyn.
The property on Morgan Avenue had an existing certificate of Occupancy for an eating and drinking establishment. The North Carolina-style barbecue smoking method was the inspiration for the bar and seating finishes. The 3,000 SF bar/restaurant was furnished with a 44’ length Shou Sugi Ban wood and penny bar – smoked like the meats for a charred and tiger striped finish – stocked with over 60 choices of beer.
The biggest challenge was creating a kitchen service design that honored the majority of the cooking happening outside. The renovations took approximately four months.
